Take-out Robots
There are various automation technologies which can be used for injection molding and thermoforming, including side-entry, top-entry, linear and articulated-arm robots. Each approach has its individual strengths and downsides. HEKUMS traditionally concentrates on molding applications which require high speed and high precision. Consequently servo-driven, high-speed linear side-entry robots are our core business, complemented by an entry-level solution with a 6-axis articulated-arm robot.
Linear Robots
The HEKU series comprises various high-speed linear robots, developed by HEKUMA. They are designed specifically for high speed and/or high precision side-entry takeout applications. For most requirements HEKU2 is the ideal choice. With high acceleration and a speed of up to 9m/s this robot is capable of moving complex End of Arm Toolings for takeout and insert-molding. When high cavitation or extremely complex and large EOATs are required HEKU3 is the perfect alternative. HEKU 3 combines part positioning accuracy and high reliability with the capability to carry payloads of up to 260Kg.

Articulated-arm Robots
Articulated-arm robots often are used in down-stream operations. But it is also common to utilize them for take-out operations. HEKUMA's HekuCell is a flexible and compact side-entry take-out system using a 6-axis-robot. HekuCell is intended for any application where automation must be combined with low investment costs such as product sampling, pilot run production, and system testing under cycle time conditions. Beyond that HekuCell is well-suited for small lot sizes and applications which require frequent modification of the injection mold. Due to its modular concept, consisting of the basic cell with 6-axis robot and a range of conveyors, pallet stacking stations, transfer stations, etc., individual configuration is easy. The HekuCell concept also offers potential for upgrading of injection molding productions of all kinds, such as free-falling de-molding or retrofitting of automation.
